Meet the dream team
The visionaries and pioneers behind the 7Hills project, dedicated to shaping 21st-century education in Uganda.
Romina Wilke Köhler
Romina holds an LLM and is a PGCE-qualified educator with experience in international education. A mother of three, she has lived in Uganda since 2006. Driven by a strong belief that learning should be engaging, practical, and foster creativity, Romina was one of the pioneers of the 7Hills project. Through 7Hills, she has helped create a holistic educational environment where the sciences, arts, humanities, and sports are given equal value, and where creativity, innovation, and critical thinking are actively nurtured.
Deborah Isharaza
Deborah comes from a family full of teachers and has been working in the education system since she was 14 years old. She has a TESOL teaching certificate and has taught English in Australia and the U.K, as well as working as a teaching assistant in the UK. She has a Bachelors in African Studies and a Masters in Human Resource Management and Development. Deborah is originally from the UK but has lived in Uganda since 2003, working in reproductive health and water sanitation. She has vast experience in training teachers in non-formal education techniques. She is a British and Ugandan Citizen.
Mark Köhler
Mark is married with 3 children and believes that high quality and modern education should be accessible to a wider public in Uganda. His involvement in 7Hills is a contribution to the country he loves and lives in. Mark holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Zurich, Switzerland and is the Chairman of Roko Construction Limited.
Jasjit Mangat Liddar
Jasjit is a 4th generation Asian Ugandan with strong ties to Uganda and has a Bachelor of Arts (honors) in French Linguistics and translation studies. She is a mother of two and is the owner of Bistro Restaurant in Kisementi. Jasjit, another pioneer of the 7 Hills project, was driven by the need to have a well-balanced, grounded, and affordable international school for her two boys and other children their age in Kampala.
Bonita Mwiyeretsi Kwizera
Bonita is a consulting writer and communications consultant with a specialty in brand and communications strategy. She is also a mother of 3, whose interest in the 7Hills project is to build a school that will in the near future give her children an education that is 21st Century relevant, creative and practical. In her involvement with 7Hills, Bonita hopes to be a part of a revolution in her home country that triggers the shift from traditional and static teaching techniques, to more innovative ones that give teenagers a solid launch pad for their lives and careers.
Grace Kwizera
Grace is a businessman with an MBA in Finance. He is a father of 3 who joined the Dream Team to create a school where his children can get an affordable education that focuses on harnessing their creativity and independence, while also encouraging responsibility. Grace is a competitive basketballer and project manager for the Jr. NBA program in Uganda. He is passionate about the development of Basketball and other sports in Uganda and has a keen interest in recruiting children to join sports at an early age.
