7 Hills International School-Kampala employs experienced secondary school teachers with International qualifications from the United States, United Kingdom, and Uganda. All our teachers have extensive experience working with children in various communities and organisations in Uganda and around the world, and possess varied linguistic, artistic and social skills. They pay close attention to the social, emotional and academic needs of each individual student, carefully adapting the curriculum and lessons to each child.

John was raised in Vermont, USA by an elementary Math teacher and amateur astronomer, in a household where education was always of primary importance. He majored in Math and Electrical Engineering at Castleton University and Clarkson University in Vermont and New York respectively, before enrolling in Upper Valley Educators Institute’s teacher certification program in 2011. He taught Algebra, Calculus and Geometry at different secondary schools where he designed alternative assessments with hands-on projects, to test his students.
He came to Uganda as part of the United States Peace Corps and taught in a secondary school outside of Bweyale for 2 years, before joining 7Hills in 2017. He is excited to be a part of a school that is committed to alternative learning because it is the way that he was taught to teach and also what he believes to be the future of education. At 7Hills, John will be teaching Mathematics and Integrated Sciences with the guidance of the project-based, hands-on and student centered IMYC.
When he is not teaching, John loves to throw himself into do-it-yourself projects on sustainability, gardening and recycling. He is also very passionate about languages and speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese and is learning 2 local dialects; Acholi and Luganda.
JC has a bachelor’s degree in Art and Industrial Design from Kyambogo University. He is a traditionally trained artist, a 2-dimensional digital painter and designer that has previously worked with AfriArt gallery as an in-house designer. JC is also an Art tutor under a holiday program called stART that was created to teach unconventional approaches to visual Art and he has helped to develop learning aid books that are based on works by practicing Ugandan painters. JC is part of a start-up multimedia company that offer visual aid content development, illustration and audio production.
John has a Diploma in Music Education from the Africa Institute of Music and a
Bachelors’ degree in Mass communication from Uganda Christian University, Mukono. He also has a certificate in lighting for film and video from ARRI Lighting Solutions, Germany.
John has been a music teacher for over 6 years, working as a Private Music Teacher and as Secondary School Music Teacher in 2 Kampala international schools. In his positions, John also served as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral oversight to the students and organising school productions and Annual School’s Talent shows. He has also coordinated exams for The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) to examine students at school in various music instruments.
John also teaches video production and photography and editing. He loves to organise music and drama clubs, events, and musicals for his students and is passionate about creating student bands.
Educational background includes History and Secondary Education, Curriculum Design and Instruction. Work experience background includes over 20 years of classroom teaching in the United States, Turkey, Israel and Malaysia. Ms. Reilly has held mid-level as well as senior level leadership positions. Most recently she served as the Bilkent International School Director at Bilkent Laboratory and International School in Ankara Turkey.
Educational background includes a Higher Diploma in Software Engineering and Cisco Certified Network Associate form APTECH Computer Education. Work experience background includes over 4 years of teaching and website development in Uganda. Mr. Kateeba has recently served as the ICT instructor at Hostalite Cyber Academy in Uganda.
Educational background: BA (Hons) Philosophy and Theology from Durham University, PGCE Secondary Education from Kings College London and MSc Globalisation and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
Work experience includes: Over eight years of experience teaching in UK secondary schools with middle-management roles. Previously worked in schools in India and East Africa. Most recently a manager at an NGO focusing on education in Uganda.
Ronnie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Makerere University in Kampala Uganda and has certificates in Physical Education from Netherlands, Tutoring and Professional Coaching from Uganda.
He is passionate about working with young people (teenagers) and has experience with young people for over ten (10) years in the area of sports. He has worked with three (3) international schools around Kampala and is involved in organizing holiday sports camps for youths.
Ronnie is currently the Head Coach of the Pemba Warriors Basketball Club- the biggest local basketball club in Uganda and has worked as coach of the Kyambogo University men and women teams. He is also involved in the Uganda National youth basketball team and has started up an organization called Afro Sports Connection (U) that focuses on grassroots sports talent development in conjunction with other youth coaches within Uganda.
